Beaches
Head out of your room and take a quick walk down to St. Georges bay and you're at the beach. If you prefer to swim off the rocky shores then head down to St. Julians and you'll find plenty of swimming spots all along the promenade.
If the sea is not for you then you can head to a variety of beach clubs along the St. Julians coast that have pools you can enjoy. You could also rent a boat for the day or jump on a bus and head to a multitude of sandy beaches north or south of the island.
Casinos
There are no shortage of casinos in the St. Julians area. There are three large casinos in walking distance of the Alexandra Hotel. The first is the Dragonara Casino, the largest of the three and enjoying the best view over looking the sea.
Portomaso Casino is also within walking distance of the Alexandra hotel and offers an array of table games and poker games providing an exciting experience in a luxurious gaming environment.
The third is Casino Malta. The Casino Malta Bar offers exclusive events with an amazing atmosphere for all our guests.
Shops
The Alexandra Hotel is in walking distance of the Baystreet complex - where you can explore a variety of highstreet shops. Visit the high end boutiques of Sarto or Lusso for designer goods or hop on a bus for a 10 minute drive to Sliema.
In Sliema you can walk down the main shopping street of Bisazza Street or head to the shopping complex 'The Plaza' or take a quick walk to 'The Point' Shopping Mall.
There are plenty of gift shops and also supermarkets within walking distance of the Alexandra Hotel for any of your daily needs or to buy souvenirs for your loved ones.
Restaurants
There's no better place for dinner than the Santori restaurant at the Alexandra hotel. However if you want something different, the Alexandra Hotel is in walking distance of hundreds of eateries. It doesnt matter if you prefer fine dining or a casual pizza by the sea, there is a bit of everything. Walk down to St. Julians and enjoy dinner by the sea - try the local sea food and even some of our local wine.
You can even find traditional local restaurants that serve the local dishes of Maltese stewed Rabbit, snails or even Octopus. If trying different cuisines is your passion you can find Greek, Asian, Lebanese and lots more in the area.
